Growthlog 3: To-do apps are for robots

Hi! Tom here from 🌵 Growthlog.

Busy week for me.

Still, I wanted to send you a quick update with some interesting stuff I discovered online.

✅ To-Do Apps Are Meant for Robots. If you’re like me, you struggle with never-ending to-do lists. Alex Kotliarskyi shares some thought-provoking observations.

“In fact the advanced solution technology lies in the hands of productivity enemies: social media apps and games. Instagram, TikTok and Candy Crush have figured all this out. They know how to make you do something with very little willpower. They know how to present information in a way that’s not overwhelming. They give you rewards for doing things.”

🕵️‍♀️ Internet Search Tips. Advanced tips and tricks for effective internet research of papers/books, with real-world examples.

🔒 Security List. Remember that no software is perfect, and it is important to follow good security practices.

🫘 Eat Beans, Live to 100. Beans, beans, the magical… longevity food?

“All members of the legume family are full of nutrients, including copper, iron, magnesium, potassium, folic acid, zinc, lysine, which is an essential amino acid, and lots of protein and fiber.”

🏗️ AI-Powered Site Builder. Imagine a website, describe it and let AI generate it. Create a marketing website in minutes using systems you already love. Webflow founders are impressed.

My Projects

✍️ Best Writing. Connecting writers with job opportunities.

  • Working on a newsletter sponsorship landing page.
  • Researching job sourcing options.

🪄 Draftpen. Writing assistance, editing, and content generation tools.

  • New week, new me, new decisions. After watching this Alex Hormozi’s presentation, I decided to discontinue the project. Wondering if I should try to sell it or organize a giveaway.

✈️ Port Surfer. Organizing world airport information. My programmatic SEO playground.

  • Published 470 airport pages using open-source data. Now is time to wait and see if Google picks it up and sends traffic my way.

I enjoy meeting creators and fellow founders.

Feel free to respond and introduce yourself or tell me more about your projects.

Now is the time to invest in yourself, to build, to ship, and to grow. 🎰🔨🚢🌱

P.S. Sophie is right.

Until the next week,

Tomas (your new internet friend)
